CRB application process update

Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) has decided to proceed with new forms and the old style CRB application forms are now no longer accepted.

Action required: Please pass this information to all administrators/school business managers where they process CRB forms. Also note the interim recovery process during the holidays if an old CRB application form has not been processed.

Exclusion forms 2010-11

Updated fixed/lunch/permanent exclusion/managed move forms are now available on the EGfL.

National Tell us survey – deadline reminder

The Government has decided to discontinue the annual Tell us survey. Individual schools that participated in last year’s survey must access and save the data held in the online database before the portal is closed down.

Action required: Previous participants in the survey must access their school’s data, using the online analysis tool, and save a copy before the portal closes down on the 17 September 2010.

Ealing Apprenticeships recruitment for year 4

The Ealing Apprenticeships scheme, running since 2007, is now in its fourth cycle of recruitment. We are searching for hard-working, positive and motivated young people aged 16 – 24 for positions covering tree services; finance, parking and a whole lot more. Apprentices receive support from the scheme, a training allowance and an NVQ qualification.

Action required: Please can the information be communicated to pupils in Year 11 and above, vacancies go live on Wednesday 1 September, closing date for applications is Thursday 30 September 2010. Also we would be extremely appreciative if staff can place leaflets where possible (e.g. in classrooms, schools cafeteria, notice boards and assembly halls).
