A quick guide to getting started with PAT for Ealing schools (word)
The DCSF pupil achievement tracker website provides PAT upgrades, tutorials and contact information, together with some useful guidance (word) on using PAT in a children's services environment.
Files containing 2005 and historical key stage results for your pupils can be downloaded from the DCSF key to success website or from your school reports page. These can be imported directly into PAT.
Optional test results and additional attributes
Information on how to create csv files to import
additional results or attributes into PAT can be found on the
DCSF standards website. If you are importing
optional test data, we have already created PAT compatible
templates, which you can download by clicking on the relevant
results year below.

You can also enter pupil results or question level responses directly into PAT using the Edit Pupil / Question level data tabs. Setting the year group (word) first allows you to use the add year group option, which speeds up this process.

Section 1: installation
Section2: updates to PAT
Section 3: importing data
Section 4: exporting from PAT
Section 5: pupil attributes
Section 6: graph styles
Section 7: backing-up data
Part 2: data analysis
Section 1: value added graphs
Section 2: target setting
Section 3: question level analysis
Section 4: trend graphs
Section 5: benchmarks
This guidance was produced in 2004 so some of the information may be out-of-date. Up-to-date versions of all the tutorials can be accessed from the help within the pupil achievement tracker.
