The behaviour improvement programme (BIP) is part of the government’s street crime initiative. The main purpose of BIP is to raise standards and levels in attendance, attainment, achievement and behaviour of pupils in selected secondary and primary schools.
In Ealing there are 16 BIP schools, three secondary and 13 primary schools. The BIP schools receive support from the Behaviour and Education Support Team (BEST), a multi-disciplinary team which comprises a systemic family psychotherapist, a clinical psychologist, a counsellor, education psychologist, behaviour support workers and admin support. The funding also makes provision for the development of an extended school, which in Ealing is Acton High School.
