Anti-bullying
Through the safeguarding agenda, we have a duty to ensure that each child in the borough is able to go to school and learn without fear, being intimidated, or being left out because of bullies.
Consultations with children and young people (particularly the biannual Health Related Behaviour Survey) show that bullying still remains an issue both nationally and in many Ealing schools.
Schools undertake a wide variety of strategies to help address the issue of bullying including:
- whole school community involvement in the creation and regular review of the school’s anti-bullying policy
- activities during the annual anti-bullying week
- recording and reporting all incidents of bullying in the school at regular intervals
- using the delivery of the RE/PSHE/Citizenship curriculum to explore bullying and its associated issues
- working with a wide variety of organisations
These raise the profile of this important issue and help to provide an effective and consistent response to incidents of bullying.
