Learning mentor training and development framework

The job purpose is that learning mentors provide support and guidance to children, young people and those engaged with them, by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve their potential.

National induction training

Two LM specific training days covering:
- facilitating children and young people's (c&yp) learning and development through mentoring
- the extended role of the mentor

Five-day generic training days covering:
- principles, values and legislation
- understanding c&yp development
- building relationships and communicatin with c&yp development
- keeping c&yp safe from harm
- integrated working

Ealing LM support team with NW London cluster using CWDC materials

NVQ LDSS levels 3 and 4

Learning development support services for children, young people and those who care for them

Currently available in partnership with the Ealing Connexions Service

Cost is approximately £ 2,500

LDSS higher education opportunities Working with young people and young people's services -foundation degree and honours degree. Studies are both 2 year 3-8pm one evening per week.
