The National Programme for Specialist Leaders in Behaviour and Attendance (NPSLBA) is the key CPD for all professionals in behaviour and attendance and is a portable DCSF qualification.

The NPSLBA launched in Ealing in November 2009 with a cohort of 35 LA and school leaders, teachers, mentors and professionals from stakeholders disciplines in four cluster groups.

The one-year programme will increase capacity in schools to:

manage challenging behaviours and poor attendance
promote productive behaviours and high attendance
thereby improve teaching and learning outcomes

creates primary, high, special and early years networks and cross phase links.
enables and supports research and interventions vital to improving behaviour and attendance
informs targeted commissioning
ensures good practise is shared

The course is run at all levels of entry in school based, cross-borough and/or mixed professional cluster groups.

New clusters can begin at any time.
