Successful completion of the induction period

In order to recommend an NQT for induction completion, the headteacher should be satisfied that the NQT has:

continued to meet the QTS standards (link to TDA website) while teaching at the school
met all the core induction standards (link to TDA website)

On successful completion of induction, the induction tutor must send the final assessment form to the local authority. It is important for the form to be completed accurately so that the local authority can submit to the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE) (link opens in new window). The GTCE will process the NQT's induction information and record the details and send the NQT's induction certificates back to the local authority. The local authority will forward the induction certificate to the NQT via the school.
