NQTs at risk of failing

When problems arise, the teacher may make representations in writing to Julie Lewis, acting Assistant Director Schools Improvement, within ten working days of the headteacher sending their recommendation.

Witihin 20 days Julie Lewis and the headteacher induction panel, on behalf of the local authority, will decide whether to accept the recommendation. They must consider any representations received from the teacher. NQTs and headteachers will receive formal notification of the induction panel's decision. The General Teaching Council for England will be notified.
