Site managers/caretakers
Site managers/caretakers are responsible for the maintenance of the school building, ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed. They may also oversee the work of other site staff.
Day-to-day tasks could include:
-
managing access to the premises and maintaining security
-
carrying out basic repairs
-
planning site use and development
-
championing health and safety around the school, and
-
supervising external contractors.
There are a number of health and safety courses run by Ealing's corporate safety team. Details are sent to schools and posted on the EGfL when they are available.
Caretakers may be interested in having a look at
The
Caretaker's website, an independent website written by
caretakers working across the UK.
Information can also be found on the
Asset Skills website, which is the employer-led
skillls body for facilities management, housing, property,
planning, cleaning and parking.
A wide range of training and CPD for all support staff can be found at Ealing CPD online.
