Fischer Family Trust (FFT) is an independent charity that supports projects in education. The data analysis project was started in 2000 to help schools and local authorities make effective use of value-added test and TA data to raise individual pupil attainment.
Ealing joined the project in 2004 and receives a database, updated at various points during the year, from which a variety of analyses can be produced. Example analyses can found on the Fischer Family Trust website.
Ealing schools are provided with their analyses to support self-evaluation report each autumn term. In addition the local authority uses FFT pupil and school estimates in its target setting support packs and pupil estimates/actual analyses in its key stage reports. Schools can access these reports via their password-protected school reports page.
Training and support materials have been created by FFT in conjunction with colleagues from some member LAs as part of a comprehensive training package for LAs, schools and their staff:

Fischer Family Trust have also developed an online analyses website to help schools estimate and analyse their performance in different subjects. New Key Stage 4 and 5 pupil level estimate reports have recently been added to the online site (April 2008).
Useful interactive guidance notes on how to navigate the site and interpret the reports are available on FFT's website. Usernames and passwords for the FFT online are available from Kim Price, email: kprice@ealing.gov.uk or tel: (020) 8825 8698.
FFT are planning to release a new improved version of FFT online ( fftlive 3.0 ) in 2008/09.
If you have any questions regarding Fischer Family Trust or any
of their analyses, please contact Kim Price (NB Ealing schools only
- schools in other authorities should contact their local data
analysis team).
