End of key stage assessment data collections

The Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) and end of key stage data collections are collected alongside the summer school census and May background reports at this time of year.

The information collected is used by the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) for reporting achievement and attainment for schools and by the LA for deciding priorities and distributing resources.

The STA was launched on 1 October 2011 and responsibility for the secure delivery of statutory assessment and reporting arrangements has now been passed to them from the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA).

EYFSP profile and KS1 assessment

The deadline for returning  your data to the LA via S2S is Friday 22 June 2012.

This is to ensure the relevant checks and amendments can be made to your returns and submitted to the DfE before schools break up for the summer holidays and in the case of KS1 results to ensure that the information published in raiseonline in the autumn term is correct.

New Content Year 1 phonics screening check

The phonics screening check is a new, statutory assessment for all children in Year 1. The phonics screening check will take place during the week commencing 18 June 2012.

The deadline for submitting your data to the LA via S2S is Friday 29 June 2012 and not 26 June as mentioned in gatekeeping.

KS2 and KS3 assessments

KS2 results are sent directly to the STA via the NCA Tools website.

New ContentImportant: New KS2 and KS3 collection requirements

KS2 teacher assessments - The DfE have made some very recent changes to the 2012 KS2 TA Collection by adding a demand for the individual attainment target scores, alongside the well established overall core subject levels.

During the 2012 KS2 TA collection process, when exporting CTF files, schools should now include the KS2 individual attainment target level scores. These have been an option before, not a definite requirement.

KS2 writing teacher assessments - If a school has decided to have the proxy writing TA (a writing test) externally marked then they will not get the result back until the 10 July. Final submission date to the NCA website is the 13 July.

KS3 teacher assessments - Schools do  not have to submit the individual attainment target scores KS3 or the non core assessments. The DfE would like schools to upload these levels, the more information the better, but the NCA tools software will not show an error if individual attainment target scores and or non core subject levels are omitted.

The NCA Tools website will be available from Tuesday 8 May until Friday 13 July 2012, however early returns are encouraged as you will  not be able to access the site again after 13 July. You will be prompted to set a new password when you log into the website for the first time.
