Reporting racist incidents

Schools have a legal and moral obligation to take action to deal with incidents when they occur, and to provide a school ethos in which all pupils know that racism is not tolerated.

Schools and LAs have a statutory duty to report information on racist incidents to the government.  The purpose of such reporting is to monitor the level of racist incidents, to look for any patterns in thier occurrence and to plan steps to prevent and address racism.

The school needs to return a termly report to the LA showing the aggregated information on racist incidents involving pupils.

Racist incident report - pupils (word)
Termly report from chair of governors to the local authority - aggregated information.
