The occupational health service offers advice and support on the health, safety and welfare of staff, helping the Council meet its duty of care. This is delivered in line with legal recommendations and evidence based best practice. For more information, see the occpational health policy (word).
Occupational health is an advisory service and work closely with both corporate health and safety and human resources advisers.
The team includes a team leader, occupational health nurse advisors, consultant physicians, and medical secretarial support. All staff have specialist qualifications.
Note: Occupational health is not a treatment service, it cannot prescribe medication and in most circumstances would advise you to see your GP. For minor injuries at work contact your first-aider. For more serious emergencies call 999 for an ambulance.
