Changes from September 2012
From September 2011 there have been a number of changes to the
extended schools team:
- A new name – the team is now known as the extended services
team.
- New partnership areas – the six extended school partnerships
have been reconfigured to create four extended service locality
partnerships based on the four quadrants.
- Schools – the core service provided by the team is for
primary and special schools.
- Working practices – the team provides support to all primary
and special schools through the new locality partnership
structure. Individual schools can buy additional support for
their school via the local authority buy back arrangements.
- Staffing – each of the four locality partnerships is
supported by a part-time coordinator. Additional support is
provided to children’s centres and individual schools by the ES
consultants.
