Young scientists turn out at Ellen Wilkinson
On Wednesday 30 June, pupils from across Ealing's primary schools brought their projects along to Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls, to take part in the Ealing Primary Science Fair 2010.
Defending champions Christ Church were joined by pupils from Grange, West Acton, Perivale, Oaklands, North, Mayfield, Lady Margaret and Hamborough primary schools.
Judges and visitors alike were impressed with the great projects
on display.
1st place chemistry winners!
Year 5 Christ Church pupils Rachel Heaslip and Isabella Lill
(above), used mentos sweets and fizzy drinks to create an engine
(albeit a messy one!) for a plastic truck.
3rd place biology winner!
While Vanouhi Petrosyan (above), from Year
6, demonstrated how to blow up a balloon using yeast and
water!
Ellen Wilkinson’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) ambassadors from the school's sixth form were on hand to help out.
The fair is part of the work done by Ellen Wilkinson to support the delivery of science in Ealing, helping to encourage enquiring minds and the love of learning within primary schools.
