Foundation stage curriculum

The philosophy behind the foundation stage curriculum is that learning should be carefully planned and structured, with an emphasis on activities that are fun, relevant and motivating for each child.

The foundation stage is made up of two groups, FS1 – nursery/playgroup (3-4 year olds) and FS2 – reception classes (4-5 year olds). This section contains information, templates and guidance on developing your foundation stage provision.
