General principles for targeted support
The primary team are using elements of the improving schools programme to challenge targeted schools, particularly planning, prioritising, monitoring and termly review. This is a ‘bespoke’ service that targets the needs of the school following a robust analysis of data and school context.
The following factors are used to allocate consultants to work in schools (not necessarily in priority order):
Some schools are allocated to PNS programmes using information from the above factors; others are allocated consultant support based on their specific needs.
This is an entitlement for all targeted schools and amounts to a maximum of up to four days support per term in any targeted school. These may look like:
Ongoing monitoring of the work and problem solving will be mainly between the consultant and subject leader/SLT. Information from this monitoring will be used in the review meetings. Consultants will complete visit reports and sent to the attached sip for the school.
This will establish an exit strategy including feedback from headteacher and SLT on impact of support and how the attached SIP will monitor this in the future.
