School overview

Ealing maintains a (confidential) categorisation system of primary schools.

Ealing has used a school categorisation system for a number of years, however, this system has been reviewed in 2009/10 in light of the New Ofsted Framework and the Every Child Matters Agenda.

The school effectiveness criteria are being developed between headteachers and LA staff. They are aimed at providing an open and transparent method for schools and LA to identify at what level a school is performing and what support it needs. The criteria are based on the Ofsted framework and linked to the self-evaluation form and the Every Child Matters agenda. These criteria will be implemented from May 2010 and will be used by SIPs and headteachers.
