Black History Month

October is Black History Month, when organisations in Britain and the USA will be remembering the contributions made by black people to the development of both countries in terms of science, the arts, culture, music and economic progress.

Black History Month 2010

This year our theme is ‘Heroines and Heroes’. This is a topic that schools can develop in many ways, for example, a study of a heroine or hero from the present day, a local hero, a personal hero or someone from the past.  There is a poster competition for pupils to enter and some worthy prizes to be won. Participating winning schools will also receive a prize.
