Talking with children: recent events in London and elsewhere
In the past two years events in London and elsewhere have meant that staff working with children and young people in schools have had to respond to difficult and sensitive questions. These webpages have been created as a resource to help them in this challenging task. They are directed to talking with children on sensitive issues.
The pages bring together new material produced in response to:
- the July events in London
- the Tsunami on Boxing Day 2004, and
- material previously circulated to schools and placed on the EGfL in response to 9/11 and the war in Iraq
The pages are complemented by updated pages on Islam and Islamophobia and asylum-seekers and refugees, which give useful background information and classroom activities.
