Support in school

The team also aims to help young people when they are in school or college. They often work with teachers in schools and colleges supporting and helping young people with their education as well as monitoring the progress of each young person.

Support for social workers and carers

Much of the team's work involves helping and supporting social workers and carers. The team offers advice when dealing with particular problems and also offers training sessions to those wishing to improve their understanding of the education system and their ability to support children's learning. They also monitor and facilitate the progress of Personal Education Plans (PEPs).

Extra help and support

Throughout the year the team run special revision and support sessions to help young people do the best they can. This includes SATs and GCSE revision classes at exam time. They also offer special homework and coursework sessions at the Horizons Centre.

The team will also visit young people in their homes if they need particular help with their schoolwork and homework. The team also support and give advice to young people in college and university.
