Early transfer form (ETF) - primary/secondary

The Early Transfer Form (excel) was originally developed at the request of Ealing Transition Managers. It replaced all paper-based systems for early transfer of information from primary to secondary schools in Ealing.

This is the first fully electronic system for transferring information about primary school students early in the summer term to their new secondary schools. It has since been further developed and agreed between four local authorities – Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hillingdon and Hounslow.  Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea joined the scheme in 2011.  This agreement also means that Ealing can both export and receive information about Y6 students across these borough boundaries early in the summer term. A protocol and detailed guidance notes (pdf) have been agreed between the partner LAs.

The Early Transfer Form is pre-populated for all primary school using the year 6 pupil details from the Spring School Census. It therefore:

In Ealing, pre-populated spreadsheets from the LA are made available for primary schools during the second half of the spring term from the  S2S website. Completed spreadsheets need to be reuploaded to S2S by the end of the spring term (please see protocol for exact dates for each year). They are then sorted by destination high school, combined with information on Y6 students who are moving across partner local authority borough boundaries, and passed to high schools towards the end of May.
