School survey

The national school survey: summer 2008

Ealing is working with the Audit Commission and Ofsted on the seventh national online school survey.

Why?

The aim is to collect your views of the services and support provided, or procured for schools, by Ealing (the whole council, not just the Schools Service). The survey also aims to obtain your views on the services provided locally for children and young people.

It provides an important opportunity to identify services that can be improved as well as those that are performing well. The information is intended to help the council's process of self-evaluation and it will also be used for future Joint Area Review inspections of Ealing and will allow us to compare our schools' views of our services with those of schools in other local authorities. Having one survey that meets the needs of several stakeholders will help to reduce the number of surveys schools are asked to complete.

When?

The survey is open between 4 June-16 July 2008.

The results will be available to us in the autumn term 2008, after which we will report back to schools.

How?

The survey form will be available to complete online at:
www.audit-commission.gov.uk/schoolsurvey using your LEA and school establishment numbers. The Audit Commission website provides full instructions for completing and submitting the survey directly to the Audit Commission.

You can also download and print a copy of the survey (pdf) if you prefer. This should be completed and returned to the Audit Commission.

Confidentiality

The information you provide will be confidential to the Audit Commission. Unless you give permission for your school to be identified to us, your responses will be kept anonymous. We will receive aggregated information only on our schools' views from the Audit Commission as well as anonymous comments.
