Assistant director, School Improvement appointed

Congratulations to Julie Lewis who has been appointed to the post of assistant director, School Improvement.

In this role she will further develop Ealing’s vision and take an innovative approach to continuous improvement in educational standards. The tasks set out before her in this role include:

Julie was previously principal adviser, leadership and learning for Ealing’s School Improvement team. She has also been in the role of  acting assistant director, School Improvement since June 2009.

David Archibald, executive director for Children and Adults, commented: “I am delighted to be able to announce that, following an extensive and thorough recruitment process, culminating in final interviews on Friday 22 January, Julie Lewis has been appointed as assistant director, School Improvement.”

Following long-listing and initial interviews, short-listing, testing and finally interviewing four candidates, both internal and external, the panel, which included three headteachers, unanimously agreed to appoint Julie.

The newly appointed assistant director, commented "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build on the success of our schools and our LA teams in driving local innovation to transform learning outcomes for children and to sustaining Ealing's reputation as a learning borough"

Julie will take on her new role with immediate effect.
