The eagerly-awaited opening of the Ealing Central Library takes place on 29 July, following a £2million refurbishment.
Boasting a floor space of some 2702 square metres, brand new features include:
Lesli Good who is the head of arts, heritage and libraries said: "The refurbishment has been a long time coming but we wanted to ensure the facilities were spot on and good quality. We were especially mindful of the continued demand for internet access hence the high number of PCs balanced with providing the traditional library facilities. We also wanted to offer parents the flexibility of child-friendly services to make their leisure or study time more convenient. The refurbishment has delivered a 21st century library for staff and residents."
You might wish to make a note of opening hours now ready for the big launch on July 29:
Mon, Fri and Sat, 9am – 5pm
Tues, Weds and Thurs, 9am – 7.45pm
Sun, 1pm – 4pm
In the meantime you can continue to use the temporary library located at Ealing Town Hall Annexe. The temporary library offers a range of adult, teenage and children's fiction and non-fiction, DVDs, newspapers and free internet access. There is also a limited local history and reference service and study space.
