School admission appeals 2018

In preparation for the first round of secondary school offers due to be distributed on 1 March and primary school offers on 16 April 2018, schools should be aware of the information on this page.

Schools with Ealing Council appeals service

Ealing Council committee section administers an appeals service for all community schools in the borough and the following voluntary-aided, foundation and academy schools:

Secondary appeals

The deadline for the receipt of all secondary school (year 7 - September 2018 start) appeals is Tuesday 3 April 2018 and we will be notifying the schools of the schedule shortly after that from Friday 20 April 2018.

All community high schools and those high schools listed above should ensure that their statement is ready by no later than 9am, Tuesday, 1 May 2018.

Primary appeals

The deadline for the receipt of all primary school appeals (reception - September 2018 start) is Wednesday 16 May 2018 and we will be notifying the schools of the schedules shortly after that commencing Monday 21 May 2018 onwards.

All community primary schools and those primary schools listed above should ensure that their statement is ready by no later than 9am, Friday 8 June 2018.

Tentative dates

You can see from the draft timetable below that schools have been tentatively allocated dates for appeal hearings.

This is our current plan but it could be subject to some alterations.

For final confirmation of the date that any appeals for your school will be heard on, please refer to the notification letter that will be sent to you 15 school days prior to the hearing date (where possible).

Preparing statements

As well as preparing a statement for the co-ordinated appeals, please ensure that you keep a draft statement on file relevant to each school year that can be provided, on request, if an ‘in year’ appeal is lodged for your school.
