Ealing Primary Centre - Update on outreach services

14 Sep 2020

Following the school closures in the summer term of 2020 due to Coronavirus, during which we provided remote support, Ealing Primary Centre's outreach services are restarting face to face work in schools this term.

Our outreach teachers have already resumed work in schools but before a visit can be made you will be contacted to request the school's Covid-19 risk assessment and for confirmation that meetings will be arranged with adequate space for social distancing.

I am continuing to work with West London NHS (WLNHS) trust, who employ the clinical psychologists who work for EPC's outreach service, to complete risk assessments so that their employees can return to face to face work. I expect face to face work to resume by October half term at the latest.

In the interim we have agreed that clinical psychologists are able to attend 'one off' meetings in schools with staff, parents and/or children. WLNHS have stipulated that during such meetings everyone must maintain 2 metres social distancing and everyone must wear a face mask (unless exempt).

We continue to offer dual roll placements to children at risk of exclusion due to their SEMH needs.
