Be Internet Citizens

19 Oct 2021

The Be Internet Citizens (BIC) programme is offering an opportunity for schools to partner with ISD and YouTube on its cutting-edge evaluation in the Autumn Term 2021/2022.

1. To measure change in participating students’ knowledge, skills and attitudes around digital citizenship;

2. To measure change in participating students’ positive behaviour online.

We hope to engage schools of all types across the UK, helping them deliver the full Unit of Work from October to January 2022 and providing templates to collect both quantitative and qualitative data on learning outcomes.

  • Facilitating pre and post surveys, conducted online;
  • Teaching all five modules of the Be Internet Citizens Unit of Work to min. one class (students aged 13-16)
  • Supporting ISD’s accredited researcher to conduct focus groups with participating students and teachers.

Participating schools will receive £500 to support classroom resources and staff time. Additionally, they will be granted full access to the data analysis, providing granular insight on how their students responded to the curriculum and potential ways to develop Digital Citizenship teaching within their school body.

Deadline for responses to participate in Autumn Term: Thursday 21 October

Deadline for responses to participate in Winter Term: Friday 10 December
