Yellow rain warning for Tuesday 1 October

30 Sep 2019

Met Office have issued a yellow rain warning (very low likelihood of medium impacts) to highlight the potential for impacts from heavy rain through Tuesday.

Heavy showers are expected to develop across the capital through the morning, becoming more frequent during the afternoon. These showers will become slow-moving for a time with 40-50 mm possible in only a couple of hours in a few places. The heavy rainfall may also be accompanied by thunder and lightning at times, along with hail. These conditions may lead to some difficult driving conditions, disruption to transport networks and flooding of some homes and businesses as well as short term loss of power or other services.

Please keep an eye on the rainfall radar on the Met Office website, Hazard Manager or the Met Office App where the warning can also be found.
