The youth offending service (YOS) is a multi-agency organisation made up of professionals from the police, social services, health, education, probation and youth and connexions.
The YOS supervise young people in the community on community sentences imposed by the courts and deliver court reports to assist magistrates with sentencing decisions.
Experience of partnership working with Ealing schools, relevant teams and agencies.
Deliver training in restorative practices.
Young people referred to the YOS take part in:
- Reparative activities such as the youth community payback scheme, where they engage in cleaning off or painting over graffiti
- Victim awareness and cognitive offending behaviour programmes.
The YOS support young people who are sentenced to custody to ensure a smooth transition from custody to the community. It has a youth inclusion and support panel, which is a preventative programme that identifies young people at risk of offending and provide multi agency support to them and their families to minimise risk.
