The Department for Health has launched a call for evidence as part of its review of changes to teaching of SRE and PSHE.

Schools are asked to pass on the survey which is available on the link below to parents and carers, teachers and young people:

Complete and submit the survey (GOV.UK website) - the survey should take around 30 minutes to complete and closes on 12 February 2018.

See downloads below for full information.

Overview

The current statutory guidance for teaching RSE was last updated in 2000. It is being reviewed after legislation was passed by Parliament earlier this year to make relationships education compulsory in all primary schools and relationships and sex education compulsory in all secondary schools.

It is particularly important to get views from young people and from schools already delivering high quality RSE. DfE will be particularly interested in hearing effective practice from primary and faith schools and from those successfully engaging parents.
