Ealing Council are delighted to announce that Cycling Instructor Ltd (CI) will be providing our Bikeability cycle training and related support, free to local schools. CI already work with a number of London boroughs to supply a wide range of cycle related training, with engagement opportunities for all ages.

Free school cycling courses

Ealing schools can book sessions between now and July 2020, so please do consider securing your place for the next academic year.

In a change to the delivery of Bikeability training by previous providers, CI will offer a pre-course assessment, to best understand and plan your pupil’s requirements. This has proved to be very useful when the course is delivered. CI also include parent/carer and child rides after school, on the final day of training. Trainees can demonstrate their new skills and knowledge to parents/guardians.

The following training is available to schools:

  • Bikeability level 1 for years 3 and 4
  • Bikeability level 1, 2 and 3 for years 5 and 6 (year 7 and 8 for high schools).

Demand is expected to be high, so please book your school cycling course as soon as possible (contact details below).

Free summer holiday cycling courses

Would you like to offer free summer holiday courses at your school? If you would like to host a course please contact CI directly (contact details below). They only require access to your playground and toilet facilities, between 9.30am and 2pm, for two to four days. This offer is limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

STARS accreditation

All cycle training supports the STARS accreditation process and can be added as a Story once the course is complete. Children and adults will learn new skills and gain confidence to be able to ride to school and increase active travel.
