Educational psychology service COVID-19

24 Mar 2020

The educational psychology service will continue to deliver a service to schools while adhering to current government advice to maintain ‘social distancing’ this means:

  • Telephone meetings with parents and school staff will replace face to face meetings whenever possible
  • Where a face to face meeting with a parent or member of school staff, or where an assessment with a child or young is necessary, these will be undertaken in accordance with Public Health advice
  • School based information from the ERSA will form the basis of statutory assessment for the duration of school closure.

We recognise that at this time school closure and uncertainty can place enormous stress on families, particularly for those of children with SEN. The EPS will offer a telephone consultation service to parents on referral from the school SENCO, details to be provided by the EPS shortly.
