Early years foundation stage reforms September 2021
16 Sep 2021
Schools need to ensure that they are now using the 2021 version of the the revised Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework which became effective in England on 1 September 2021. The use of non-statutory supporting guidance and documents is discretionary.
Support for practitioners in implementing the new framework:
- Birth to 5 Matters: Non-statutory guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Development matters: Non-statutory curriculum guidance for the early years foundation stage.
DfE have also published Help for Early Years Providers.
DfE, Ofsted and Foundation Years have published vodcasts aimed at different parts of the sector, including governors and senior leaders, to support understanding and implementation of the revised EYFS.
Ealing's early years quality and partnership team is planning some training to support the implementation of the framework and it will be a standing agenda item on the early years leaders network meetings every half term.
Training and network meetings can be booked on Ealing Early years CPD Online.
