Audit assistance surveys 2019

The property services delivery unit (PSDU) will commence the 2019 schools audit assistance surveys after the Easter holidays.
Phase 1 will be completed before the summer holidays and phase 2 will be undertaken during September and October 2019. See downloads below for phases.
The surveys are undertaken annually to support schools in complying with their various legal and statutory duties, in relation to buildings and health and safety regulations. The service provides a method to ensure schools are aware and have in place all relevant processes and documentation.
Primarily, this service audits the testing, inspection and certification regime for building related functions. The intention is to assist schools where areas of non-compliance are noted.
Lauren North on behalf of the PSDU will contact schools directly to agree arrangements for the survey visit and this will include advice about the type of documentation that will be reviewed and confirmation of whom the PSDU would like to meet.

As the survey process is a very tight programme in each of the phases, it is essential to utilise the PSDU surveyor’s time effectively and efficiently.
It would be appreciated if confirmed appointments are adhered to. We welcome any schools who let us attend during a school holiday. The survey should take between one to two hours.
To support schools in providing additional information, schools will be given six weeks after the date of the visit to update the council regarding any missing information before we issue the report. The pre-survey document which will need to be reviewed by the school prior to the survey is attached as an addendum to this gatekeeping notice.
