I would like to take this opportunity to update you on new events taking place this term.

New headteacher induction meeting, Wednesday 18 September, 9am to 12.45pm (EEC)

An induction meeting for new heads will be held on Wednesday 18 September. We wanted to thank headteachers who have volunteered to act as mentors and we will be in contact to clarify their roles and procedures in the first two weeks of term.

Meeting with new headteachers and mentors, Wednesday 18 September, 2 to 4pm (EEC)

A meeting will be held for new heads and their allocated mentors. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss effective support strategies.

Getting ready for Ofsted: Tuesday 17 September, 10am to 1pm (EEC) primary and secondary schools

The new framework has come in to operation. There were several briefings last term and a more ‘in-depth’ session will take place on Tuesday 17 September at the EEC to support school leaders’ understanding of the framework and the new areas of focus. Priority will be given to schools where inspection is imminent and further sessions will take place if there is enough demand.

Primary ELP cluster peer review training: Tuesday 24 September 9am to 3.30pm (EEC)

A training session for all new reviewers will take place on Tuesday 24 September.

Primary curriculum conference: Thursday 26 September 10am to 4.30pm

A conference focussing on the curriculum, hosted by West London Teaching Alliance, will take place at Montpelier Primary School on Thursday 26 September featuring Helen Nistala of ‘Wholehearted Curriculum Design;’ Milan Stevanovic (new headteacher at St John’s Primary ) ‘The Curriculum in the context of the Ofsted Framework; Mark Hartley ‘Reading at the very heart of the Curriculum;’ Jeremy Hannay, ‘The Curriculum Revolution at Three Bridges Primary School’ and Helen Rai and Helen Nistala outlining one of the ELP curriculum commissions.
