ALFIE's healthy families programme is back in person

21 Jun 2022

The healthy families team are pleased to inform you all that ALFIE Ealing is back and we will be running our summer holiday bootcamps in person!!!!

Our summer holiday bootcamps are a great way for the whole family to take part in healthy eating and phyiscal activities. Programmes are for for children who are above a healthy weight for their age (overweight) aged 5 - 13 years and their siblings (a parent / carer must also be present).

Programmes will be taking place in venues across Ealing and will include a variety of interactive sessions on nutrition and healthy eating topics such as

  • food label reading
  • food groups and portions sizes

We will also have cook and eat sessions everyday where families will get to make a healthy lunch and eat together.

Families also get to take part in non competive multi-skill sports and games in fun and safe structred environment which ia a great way to increase levels of physical activity, boost self confidence and improve social, mental and phyiscal wellbeing

The programmes include a combination of 1:1 sessions - where families get to meet the team, learn more about what to expect on the programme and start to set their own individualised SMART Goals; followed by daily group sessions with other families ( in line with government guidlelines).

Our bootcamp programmes are due to take place in August so please do refer families you think may benefit from this programme and /or notify your families of the programme via your preffered method of communication.

All programmes are delivered by qualified nutrition and physical activity professionals. Programmes are free of charge, but places are limited and an adult (parent/carer) must be present at all sessions.
