The Primary NQT cross-borough conference which will take place on 21 May 2020 at 8.45 – 15.45 at Hilton Double Tree Inn, Ealing Common.

This conference is organised by Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster in association with Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing, Brent, Haringey, Barking and Dagenham, and Southwark.

Packed with a range of activities/ workshops, the conference’s main theme is ‘Teaching Talk, Pupil Talk, Thinking Talk’.

Professor Neil Mercer will deliver a key note focusing on ‘Types of talk and how it affects learning, the most effective strategies for developing talk, and different types of talk in the classroom. How this can support building cultural capital and help address socio-cultural inequality’.

Also, Prof Neil Mercer and by Dr James Mannion will lead a very interesting workshop on ‘Thinking together’.

In addition, there will be a few more streamlined workshops such as: Teachers’ voice techniques, Talk for EYFS, Coding children’s language, Talk for SEND – All led by specialists in these fields.

During the day, there will be plenty of opportunities for NQTs to network with NQTs from other LAs or even with the conference presenters.

The cost per delegate will be £120, or £100 if booked by March 31.
