2017 secondary schools performance tables: September checking exercise now open
25 Sep 2017
The 2017 secondary schools and colleges performance tables September checking exercise is now open for two weeks, closing on Monday, 9 October 2017.
This exercise gives schools the opportunity to review and amend the pupil and student level data to ensure it is accurate upon publication in January 2018.
This is an essential part of the performance tables quality assurance process.
What schools need to do
Schools need to check their data and make any necessary amendments via DfE School and College Tables Information website before 5pm on Monday, 9 October 2017.
The final data is published in January 2018 and will be used to calculate the secondary floor standards and 16 to 19 minimum standards.
Recent arrivals (or other children for removal)
If you do submit any additional recent arrivals or other children for removal, from your KS4 data (other than those you previously submitted in June) please inform Jennifer Bull via secure email (see contacts) so we can ensure we remove them from your GCSE provisional school report.
Publication of provisional key stage 4 measures - October 2017
To help inform secondary school admissions applications, provisional key stage 4 headline performance measures will again be published in October for state-funded schools.
The measures being published are:
- Attainment 8 score
- Progress 8 score
- The percentage of pupils achieving grades 9-5 in English and maths ('strong pass') and the equivalent data for grade 4 and above ('standard pass')
- English Baccalaureate entry and achievement (based on strong pass (9-5) in English and maths and A*-C in legacy subjects)
- 'Standard pass' for EBacc achievement
- The percentage of pupils staying in education or employment for at least two terms after key stage 4 (destinations).
The data you see in the checking exercise will be the data used for this provisional release, any changes submitted during the checking exercise will not be updated for the provisional publication in October but will be incorporated into the final data, published in January 2018.
