SIMS licence notice period - 90 days

Deadline approaching icon

13 Nov 2017

If your school is thinking of moving away from Capita SIMS or FMS in the next financial year, you are required to give 90-days’ notice that you will no longer require to purchase a licence.

You must give your notice by 1 December 2017, or be locked-in to paying in full for another year with Capita.

Schools that become academies but are remaining with SIMS

You are required by Capita to hold your own licence and you cannot hold one under the borough ‘umbrella’.

Schools that do not have a date for becoming an academy yet, but are remaining with SIMS

You can buy your licence through the borough umbrella while you remain a maintained school and then buy a licence in your own right as an academy. You can have the difference for any remaining part of the school year refunded through the borough.
