06 Nov 2023
About the HAF programme
The HAF programme provides funded holiday provision, including healthy food and enriching activities, for children and young people in Reception to Y11
- who reside in or attend school in Ealing and
- are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals (FSM), or
- who are vulnerable and would benefit from a HAF place.
Children in Reception to Year 6 who are in receipt of the universal FSM offer are not eligible for HAF.
Winter 2023 HAF
Ealing’s Winter HAF will run from Friday 22 December 2023 and Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 January 2024
Eligible children and young people can attend for a maximum of 5 days over the Christmas school holiday.
Vulnerable children and young people
We are able to offer a limited number of HAF places to vulnerable children and young people who would benefit from attending HAF provision but are not in receipt of benefits-related FSM.
You will need to complete an online referral application for them to access the Winter HAF.
Referrals open 9am, Wednesday 1 November and close 12noon on Wednesday 20 December. Vulnerable places should not be used for childcare.
Promote to eligible families
Please let eligible families you are working with know about our upcoming HAF programme and encourage them to book Winter HAF activities.
From 30 October eligible families will receive a printed postcard from their child/young person’s school and an email with their HAF/FSM code. Please note, the printed postcards will not contain families HAF/FSM codes. For schools, please use the covering letter sent to school staff which will have codes on the reverse.
If an eligible family does not receive their code by Mon 13 November please support them to email HAF@ealing.gov.uk with the subject title ‘Eligible - Missing Code’.
Younger siblings of eligible children may be able to attend using the same HAF/FSM code if the chosen HAF provider is able to accommodate.
Booking information and FAQ: HAF pages on Ealing’s Families Directory.
HAF bookings open Wednesday 15 November and close Thursday 21 December
