Launch of the 2025 health related behaviour survey – action required
14 Jul 2025
We are pleased to launch this year’s Health Related Behaviour Survey (HRBS), a vital opportunity for your school to gain detailed insight into the health and wellbeing of your pupils in Years 4, 6, 8 and 10.
This year, it is easier to register to take part in the survey. Just complete a short, one-off online form to nominate your school’s HRBS lead.
From that point forward, all communication from the Schools Health Education Unit (SHEU) will go directly to the nominated lead, and no further action will be required from you.
Taking part in the HRBS offers your school:
- A detailed, anonymised report of your pupils’ responses, benchmarked against borough-wide data.
- Evidence to support Ofsted inspections, pupil wellbeing reviews, and the evaluation of interventions.
- A powerful tool to inform your PSHE curriculum, safeguarding priorities, and whole-school development planning.
- The ability to track trends over time and demonstrate the impact of your school’s health and wellbeing initiatives.
The survey is fully funded and supported by Ealing Council and Public Health, and is the only borough-wide dataset of this scale that captures the lived experiences of children and young people across education, health and social care. In 2023, over 10,000 pupils took part, and the data has already been used to inform local priorities and support targeted interventions.
We hope your school will take part in this important work. Please register at this link: http://sheu.org.uk/register. Further details and supportive information will be sent by SHEU soon, and the survey itself will take place in September /October 2025.
