Supporting success: strategies for teaching assistants working with pupils with SEN and autism

An in person, 1 day, training course for teaching assistants, teaching partners and learning support assistants to learn about key approaches and strategies for working with pupils with SEN.

The day, led by multiple trainers, will include:

• Therapeutic approaches for behaviour support
• Understanding autism
• Supporting communication
• Approaches to sensory differences

Outcomes

Teaching assistants will have clear information and guidance for working with children with special educational needs in the four themes and areas presented.

Teaching assistants will have improved understanding regarding successful strategies for working with SEN pupils.
