Early help assessment and plan (EHAP) training

06 Jun 2025

The Early Help Assessment and Plan (EHAP) offers those working with families a process by which to identify what help and support is needed for a child and their family to address arising issues early, before they become more difficult to resolve and before they cause greater difficulty or need statutory intervention.

EHAPs can also be used to coordinate step-down support from targeted interventions.

About EHAP

The EHAP is an effective and proven early intervention tool. The process involves a team around the family (TAF) meeting during which a single assessment of need is carried out which then facilitates multi-agency working to help resolve issues and achieve a desirable result for the child and their family.
