Three new school streets are starting this term

23 Sep 2025

We are launching three new school streets across the borough, bringing the total number of education providers benefitting from a School Street to 46.

The School Streets for Little Ealing Primary and Southfield Primary are starting on 22 September, with the scheme for Orchard House starting on 6 October.

There are far reaching benefits to School Streets including improved safety and health through an increase in physical activity and reduction in car use. They provide a low traffic area, making it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to use the road space. They support the right of every child to be able to safely and comfortably walk, cycle or scoot to school without facing danger, perceived or actual, from road traffic.

The School Streets map shows where the schemes are. You can zoom in to see details about each one, including the areas for walking and cycling only.
