ECT Induction - Important information on Ealing Appropriate Body (AB)

ECT Induction 2023/24 (Cohort 2022/24)

Ealing Appropriate Body (AB) will continue to act as the AB for all ECTs that started their induction in September 2022 until they complete induction in July 2024.

Registration of new ECTs (Cohort 2023/24)

From September 2023, schools can no longer register new ECTs with the Local Authority AB. Teaching School Hubs (TSH) will act as ABs for schools.

An ECT cannot start their induction until their AB has been agreed (2.23).

The ECT must be registered with an appropriate body before the start of the induction (2.11). Failure to do so may delay the start of the induction period (2.27).

Schools can access AB services from a TSH that makes the most sense for their circumstances. Find an appropriate body (GOV.UK)
