Best Start in Life - new government campaign

03 Oct 2025

Best Start in Life is the government's new campaign to bring together all the services, and provide trusted information and support for parents from pregnancy through early childhood.

The initiative features Parent Hubs that focus on building family services, making childcare more affordable, and improving education quality. The programme aims to ensure that every child has the best start in life, regardless of their background.

The extension to childcare funding, allows more parents to apply for free childcare and the government has also made a commitment to create additional nursery places in schools.

How your school can help families

A new brand toolkit is available that can help partners understand how they can use the new brand to promote and frame their services and recognise the government funding that has made it possible. All partners are encouraged to signpost parents to the new Best Start in Life website for more information about sources of support and advice.

Resources can be found on the Best Start in Life hub.
