Educational psychology service 2024/25

This service is available for Academies, Maintained schools and Other schools and settings

Description:

The educational psychology service (EPS) helps schools, early year’s providers, colleges, parents and carers to meet the needs of children with additional needs.

Year
Financial year 2024/25
Benefits

The EPS has in-depth knowledge of the services available to children and families across Ealing and can ensure close partnership working between schools and other local agencies.

Each school in the Local Authority has a link Educational Psychologist (EP) who visits regularly and works closely with an Assistant Educational Psychologist (AsEP). This allows EPs and AsEPs to build close relationships with schools and families and develop understanding of the wider community context.

EPs and AsEPs can offer a wide range of assessments and interventions to support children and young people (CYP) in their educational settings and offer some limited support to parents who may be struggling to come to terms with their child's additional needs.

All work undertaken by the Assistant EP is agreed and supervised by the school EP.

Office hours:

Monday to Friday: 9am to 4.30pm.

Planned improvements:

We will be offering more consultation sessions this year to parents, teachers and SENCOs, where interventions can be agreed at the end of focused problem solving meetings.
