Ealing governor training
Ealing provides a wide range of training opportunities to enable governors, trustees and clerks to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills.
These courses are free of charge to governors/ trustees/ clerks of schools that have purchased the Ealing’s CPD and training service level agreement (ask your school’s CPD leader if you are unsure) otherwise there is a small charge to your school.
Ealing Learning Partnership (ELP) governance accreditation
The governance locally accredited programme for 2021/22 is available for all governors/ trustees/ clerks, who in any one academic year complete:
- Four training sessions (including learning conversations) +
- A brief self-review* (word) of the difference any training has made to practice and next steps
On submission, successful governors/ trustees/ clerks will receive an ELP governance accreditation certificate.

Local authority network meetings
For 2021/22 the chairs' and lead governors' half termly briefings will be held online.
These half termly sessions are aimed at experienced governors who may be chairs and/or leads in key strategic priority areas. Book via Ealing CPD online
The briefings are free to all governors/trustees of Ealing Learning Partnership schools.
Clerks' network meetings are held twice a term and provide:
- A networking opportunity for clerks to share best practice
- A forum to provide advice, information and feedback on governing board issues especially regarding the statutory responsibilities of the clerk
- CPD/training opportunity (as appropriate).
These can be booked via Ealing CPD online and are free of charge to all Ealing Learning Partnership schools.
Bespoke training for Ealing governing boards
Bespoke work/training for governing boards can be accessed via the Ealing’s universal school improvement offer brokered with link officers.
Alternatively schools can buy bespoke support from recommended experts, which the governance development team and/or the CPD at Ealing Education Centre (EEC) team can advise and facilitate.
