Healthy schools London awards

The Ealing Healthy Schools Awards Programme supports schools to embed health and wellbeing across the curriculum and wider school life. It aligns with statutory guidance and Ofsted’s personal development framework.

There are four award levels:

• Bronze
• Silver
• Gold
• Platinum (Ealing only)

Bronze Award

Recognises a whole-school, embedded approach to health and wellbeing.

To achieve Bronze:

• Register online via the HSL portal
• Complete and upload the Bronze Award Tool, including:
  • Evidence of current practice
  • Links to policies and documents
  • Reflections on whole-school health and wellbeing

Renewal: Every 3 years schools must review and update their tool, reflect on progress, and re-submit.

Silver Award

Demonstrates that a school has identified a specific health and wellbeing priority and developed a new project or intervention.

To achieve Silver:

• Hold a valid Bronze Award
• Complete and upload the Silver Award Tool, including:

A needs analysis:

• Defined target group(s)
• A project with measurable outcomes
• Monitoring and evaluation plan

This award does not expire.

Gold Award

Celebrates schools that have sustained and evaluated the impact of their Silver-level project or intervention.

To achieve Gold:

• Hold valid Bronze and Silver Awards
• Complete and upload the Gold Award Tool, including:
  • Results and impact
  • Reflections on the approach
  • Evidence of sustainability

Schools may apply for additional Silver or Gold Awards by selecting a new priority or refining their approach.

This award does not expire.

Ealing Platinum Award

Exclusive to Ealing schools that are part of the Healthy Schools and Awards Package and have achieved the Gold Award.

To achieve Platinum:

• Share learning and impact from your Gold Award
• Complete a new Silver tool
• Complete the Ealing Platinum Tool

Training for Healthy School Awards

Training sessions for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards are available at the Ealing Education Centre. Schools are encouraged to attend training relevant to their chosen award level.

If your school is already registered, please ensure the following steps are completed:

• Email login: All users must now log in using their email address instead of a username.
• Password reset: You’ll be prompted to reset your password the first time you log in to the updated site.
• Profile updates: Once logged in, please review and update your profile. Schools must confirm their Water-Only status.
